The following information is a guide to different options available to our customers. We will always recommend the best solution for your project but will also offer options for your budget.
Smaller areas of asphalt that have deteriorated usually require a PATCH / REPAIR.
Older driveways or parking lots that are developing cracks and potholes can usually just be overlaid with a PERMAFLEX® application that will help to prevent the surfacing of existing cracks.
If the cracking is not severe, the cracks can be filled with a hot filler and a basic overlay of a standard type asphalt can be provided.
Older driveways or parking lots that have not been properly maintained or have had heavy use may require complete removal and repaved.
Standard Procedures
Repairing failed asphalt.
Sawcut area and remove debris- Apply a hot liquid tack coat to edges
- Apply necessary stone base and compact.
- Apply 2" type "F" hot asphalt topping and compact to a smooth finish.
Paving new area - specifications will vary depending on project
- Complete necessary grading and compact sub-base
- Apply stone base as required and compact.
- Apply binder asphalt if required and compact.
- Apply type "F" hot asphalt topping and compact to a smooth finish.
Overlaying an existing asphalt area.
- Clean existing asphalt area thoroughly.
- Apply a hot liquid tack coat.
- Apply 2" type "F" hot asphalt topping and compact to a smooth finish.
Installation of Permaflex asphalt to overlay existing asphalt area.
- Clean existing asphalt area thoroughly.
- Apply a hot liquid tack coat.
- Apply 1" type Permaflex asphalt and compact.
- Apply 1" type "F" hot asphalt topping and compact to a smooth finish.
