Permaflex/Sealcoating

Definition and Explanation of Perma Flex Paving

Perma Flex is an asphalt paving system that we use to make paving repairs on large asphalt areas more economically than the standard asphalt patch method. Asphaltic cement, graded AC coated stone, and asphaltic concrete are applied over existing broken pavement. The asphalt cement helps hold the broken asphalt together and cements to prevent movement as well as prevent cracks from reflecting into the asphalt topping. The asphalt topping then bonds the whole system together, adds structural strength, and provides a smooth riding or walking surface.

Application

  1. asphalt pouring, asphalt paving, pavers, sealcoatingEntire area should first be cleaned with a power broom or blower.
  2. Potholes and depressions should be patched and/or filled with asphalt.
  3. Apply approximately one (1) inch of hot Perma Flex asphalt (#67 or #7 stone that has been heated and coated with AC - 20 hot liquid asphalt) within 0.5 to 1.0 foot of curbs with self-propelled 1997 Lee Boy 1000 asphalt spreader.
  4. Perma Flex course should be rolled with a 6 to 10 ton steel wheel roller until sufficient compaction has been obtained.
  5. Machine apply one (1) inch of hot plant mix type F or G asphaltic concrete over Perma Flex areas and feather all edges to perimeter.
  6. Compact topping course with 6 to 10 ton or equivalent steel wheel roller for proper compaction.
  7. Clean newly paved areas free of any debris and haul off jobsite.

Guarantee

All work and material are guaranteed against any and all potholes or depressions occurring, as well as upheaval and/or alligatoring of asphalt for a period of two (2) years - such guarantee to run from the date on which the completed work is turned over to and accepted by the purchaser. Repairs are not guaranteed against p etroleum spillage, tree roots, vegetation along edges and at the end of asphalt, or deterioration of adjacent areas into the newly paved areas. If repairs are necessary to the above said work while still under warranty, this will be completed to satisfaction by us at no additional charge.

Asphalt, when first poured, takes a full twelve months to cure out completely and will therefore, have some aggregate during the curing process, more so in colder weather than in hotter weather. Unless asphalt has been allowed sufficient time to set up, tire and roll marks on hills will sometimes occur, as will indentions from pointed objects, such as the ends of chairs, ladders, high heel shoes, etc. All this is considered normal during the hot and cold winter months.

Sealcoating Procedure (Guarantees a Two [2] Year Guarantee)

All areas to be sealed are cleaned with a power blower and broom sweep. We then apply oil seal to all major oil spots for proper bondage of seal (some oil spots won't bond properly with the sealcoating). All grass is removed by a weedeater, and weed killer is applied. We then spray a double application of Gem Seal Poly Tar Sealer. This is by far the best sealer on the market to date. It has a rubber additive included during manufacturing for a superior sealer. We add three to five lbs. of sand-mix per gallon of sealer for proper wear and traction. Our mix contains only 5% water per gallon of sealer and is by far the most concentrated mix used in the metro area. All work is installed by a professional crew with over 21 years of experience. All jobs will be done neatly and cleanly at all times with a minimum of traffic disruption. Line marking, if needed, will be done upon completion of dry time.

Note: Our mix exceeds all state and federal specifications.
